Optometrist

Dr. Paige Chain is your new eye care provider in North County San Diego! Dr. Chain founded Spotlight Optometry in 2023 with a desire to integrate medical eye care services and optical fashion in a boutique setting.

Dr. Chain obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of California, San Diego. Following her time in San Diego, she acquired her doctorate degree in Chicago from Illinois College of Optometry. She completed rigorous externships in ocular disease hospitals during her final year of school and received clinical letters of excellence in all rotations. In addition to her rotations, Dr. Chain completed a prestigious Residency at VA Long Beach Healthcare specializing in traumatic brain injury and low vision. In addition, she researched age related macular degeneration at Shiley Eye Center at UCSD.  
 

Dr. Chain is a licensed therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist. She completed extensive training in ocular disease treatment and management for conditions such as Diabetic Retinopathy, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, and Cataracts. She has a passion for managing Dry Eye Syndrome, and fitting specialty contact lenses for conditions such as Keratoconus, post-graft corneas, and other corneal irregularities.

Dr. Chain speaks Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese, and Spanish.
 

Outside of work, Dr. Paige Chain enjoys spending time biking along the 56 freeway and hiking around San Diego with her family.
